Sumra Fishing

Watersport activities, Sports activities, Fishing in Le François
  • Do you dream of going deep-sea fishing in Martinique? If you'd like to spend a day in vacation mode on the islets of Le François and Robert, Sumra Fishing is the address for you.

  • Come aboard with Taylor, a Franciscan, a sailor from generation to generation and a fishing enthusiast. So passionate, in fact, that he's a member of the UFR/Chanflor yawling team. As he likes to say, he spends more time on the water than on land.

He has an incredible knowledge of the oceans, its fauna and flora, and above all, he loves to pass on his knowledge on excursions or fishing trips aboard his boat "Psaume 1", a Bessarion that can accommodate up to 12 passengers.

Come aboard with Taylor, a Franciscan, a sailor from generation to generation and a fishing enthusiast.

    Taylor offers two activities:
    - ½-day excursions (8am/12.30pm and 1pm/16.30pm):
Departure from Le François marina. You'll head for îlet Chancel to observe iguanas (Iguana delicatissima), Martinique's protected endemic species, and visit the îlet with the remains of an old sugar dwelling.
You'll then embark for the white bottoms of Trapèze, where you'll be served a snack (juice, homemade planteur and liqueur, tarts, baby sandwiches...). Then on to ilet Madame for a swim in crystal-clear waters ideal for snorkeling, and finally to Joséphine's bathtub for a final dip in a magnificent white bottom and the famous baptism of rum.
Return to the marina via the islets of Le François, where Taylor will tell you stories about them while you sample sweet Creole pâtés.
    Rates: €50 / Adult - €30 / Child (-12yrs)

    - Fishing:
One of the few to take you fishing on the island. Taylor practices several fishing techniques:
FAD (Fish Aggregating Device),he uses this FAD to attract a variety of fish creating incredible deep sea fishing opportunities.
Trolling, where lures are dragged behind the boat. This is a popular method in Martinique for catching fish such as tuna, wahoo and mahi-mahi, which offer an exciting fight for thrill-seeking anglers.
Jigging (JJGG), this fishing technique allows you to target fish such as grouper, barracuda and snapper, offering a thrilling sport fishing experience.
Get ready to experience memorable moments while discovering the region's rich marine fauna. Whether you're an avid angler or just want to enjoy a day on the water, fishing these tropical waters promises lasting memories and fishing stories to share. For ages 15 and over - all tackle is provided, and as tradition dictates, you'll be able to take home some of your catch. Please bring your own snack and meal.
