At the heart of the factory, you'll see how the fruit is transformed into nectars, juices and jams. Nearly 80% of the fruit used is local, grown and harvested in Martinique. The site is farmed organically, and pineapple cultivation is certified as High Environmental Value. The recovery of fruit waste, the use of renewable energy, ecological water treatment, and the production of seedlings illustrate Denel's commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility, helping to preserve natural resources and promote environmentally-friendly agriculture.

A little history:
Founded at the beginning of the 20th century by Baron Pierre Daniel de Saumery, the Denelle canning factory is one of the island's oldest working industrial sites. After his death in 1923, its new owner Jacques Vauzanges organised the pineapple industry, bringing together competing canneries and creating a distribution structure to supply the French market. By 1930, the factory was producing 1 million tins of sliced pineapple, covering 10% of French consumption. A brand name had to be found for the products, and it became ‘Royal’, in homage to the fruit's crown.
