The tour on the little train is the highlight of the experience. Convenient, fun and unique, it allows visitors to explore part of the farm in complete safety. Accompanied by a guide, visitors discover every stage of banana cultivation, from planting to harvesting: growth, cutting, de-stemming, washing and packing.
The route runs alongside the river and passes through an estate rich in tropical flowers (porcelain roses, balisiers, alpinias), coffee plants and fruit trees such as guava, breadfruit and mango trees, offering a complete immersion in Martinique’s agricultural heritage.
The tour lasts around 50 minutes and concludes with a tasting of local produce, made directly from the estate’s own fruit and vegetables. The little train can accommodate up to 30 adults, spread across the various carriages, making it an ideal activity for families, groups and school trips.
Prices for the mini-train tour • Adult: €17 • Child (aged 4 to 12): €7 • Family rate • Groups (minimum 15 people)
Tours are available in French and English.
Online booking is strongly recommended, as the train has limited capacity.
At the Belfort estate, you’ll also discover… • The Belfort Gardens, a unique venue for receptions, conferences and weddings • The “L’Éphémère” restaurant and L’Éphémère Drive takeaway • A shop selling local produce
Certified organic farming Habitation Belfort has been certified as an organic farm since December 2019, guaranteeing respect for the soil, air, water and biodiversity. Since February 2020, the estate has also held the ZRP (Zero Pesticide Residue) label.
