Unique panoramic views of Ducos, Le Lamentin and Fort-de-France at the foot of the Pitons du Carbet massif. This is the perfect family hike, starting from a site steeped in history. It is a path without great difficulty but rather little maintained and with many muddy passages when it has rained. -
The hike starts next to the ruins of the former sugar factory of La Pagerie. Opposite the entrance to the Musée de la Pagerie, go left on the small road and after the second bridge, take the dirt track (1) on the left which climbs up into a small clearing before going into the undergrowth.

Opposite the entrance to the Musée de la Pagerie, go left on the small road and after the second bridge, take the dirt track (1) on the left which climbs up into a small clearing before going into the undergrowth.
Further on, the path leads to a concrete road (2). Go straight ahead and turn right at the first fork in the road. You will find yourself on a small dirt road that runs through the forest. Here the vegetation is somewhat disconcerting, the mesophilic forest and the xerophilic forest are intermingled, it is a cheerful mixture of the most varied species: mahogany, courbaril, indian wood, ti-baume wood, guava tree, toasted wood, etc. The area is also a popular spot for hunters, whose lookout posts line the route.
At the end of the long path there is a fork in the road (3). Turn left. The path climbs steeply but soon reaches the Ancinel plateau. The respite is short because the climb is getting stronger and stronger. On this section, on the left, you can see the bay of Génipa, the Village de la Poterie and a large part of the centre of the island.
Continue straight ahead, until you reach a barrier which diverts the path to the right. Go ahead and turn left at the next fork in the road and then left again to return to the original path. Further on, the dirt track gives way to a concrete road, continue on the road until the next fork in the road. Here you are in Ancinel, on the territory of Le Diamant and this is where the hike ends.
