The grind of the coffees available in the shop is a fine grind corresponding to filter coffee makers, Italian coffee makers, espresso machines or permanent capsule machines. For piston coffee machines you can ask for a very coarse grind, such as coarse salt. On the other hand, for Turkish or Oriental coffee makers, you can ask for a very fine grind, such as flour (preferably on order).
Let yourself be seduced by the range of coffees flavoured by the house:
vanilla, vanilla-cocoa, vanilla-cinnamon-muskade, cinnamon, ginger-cinnamon, country nougat, cardamom or Tonka bean...

For an optimal reception with tasting and advice, it is preferable to arrive at least 30 minutes before closing time.

The inhabitants who have coffee trees can sell green coffee, the World of Spices will transform and sublimate it! It is therefore possible to find Pure Origin coffee from Martinique at Le Monde des Épices !

    Did you know that!
In its natural state, the coffee bean is green and has neither taste nor flavour, it must be roasted to reveal its aroma. Roasting is therefore not just a transformation of the coffee bean, but a revelation of its rich taste and smell. There are two types of roasting: industrial roasting, which allows several hundred kilos of coffee to be cooked in just ten minutes.
It is mainly used for coffees intended for mass distribution, and cannot be used for the great vintages, which are too delicate.

Purists prefer traditional roasting: the coffee beans are roasted slowly and thoroughly for 16 to 20 minutes, at between 180° and 220°C. Depending on the duration and intensity of the roasting process, the coffee bean will change colour from green to amber ("blond" coffee), then to brown ("monk's robe" coffee), and even to intense black ("highly roasted" Italian style). The roaster's know-how and experience are essential: he must master the choice of coffees, the roasting method and the choice of blends. Indeed, each origin has its own gustatory qualities, and, as with wine, each terroir is different. A true goldsmith's work of coffee!
