  • Starting point: La Charmeuse district, on the heights of the village of Anses-d'Arlet.
Access: From Petite Anse in the village of Anses-d'Arlet, take the direction "La Charmeuse", then take the concrete road which climbs steeply, towards the Plateau La Charmeuse.

It is the ascent of one of the highest peaks of the South of the island, a walking effort well rewarded by a splendid panoramic view which will reveal you the village of Le Diamant and its rock as well as the South-East part of Martinique.

  • Go past a large gate and walk along the fence on your left. At the end of the fence, turn left and follow the path which continues into rocks.

Higher up, the slope softens and the path continues in a lush forest in which one can notice, among others, mango trees. After a little over an hour of walking, the trail arrives on a platform. Here, you are welcomed by a strong scent of allspice wood. This essence used as a spice in Creole cuisine is very abundant there.

    Keep going straight on....

Keep going straight on. You will notice on your left a pond colonized by water lilies and papyrus (1). A little further, at the exit of the undergrowth, the spectacle is magnificent, the forest opens and it is like a curtain raising on an exceptional panorama.

At your feet lies Le Diamant beach, on the horizon lies the island of Sainte-Lucie, and very close to you, Le Diamant rock. To go down again, take the path which goes to the left in the rocks.
After a full hour, you arrive on the D37 at Anse Caffard.
