Le Joséphine - Hôtel l'Impératrice ***

With its modernist seaside style architecture and its liner-like appearance, the Hôtel l'Impératrice*** occupies a prime location in the heart of Fort de France, opposite the Place de la Savane. Run by the same family since the 1950s, the place is not static despite its rich history.

It is in the restaurant on the first floor, "Le Joséphine", that the chef Catherine Naud revisits Martinique's traditions with mastery and finesse. In addition to the à la carte menu (dishes from €16), she offers 2 daily menus at €28 and €32 that you can enjoy in the restaurant or on the balcony. Proud of its terroir, it favours the production of farmers and market gardeners.

The highlight of the week is undoubtedly the much sought-after Creole buffet on Thursday. On the elegantly laid table, typical or forgotten recipes are offered at will (35 euros) excluding drinks: ti nain morue, souskay de hareng saur, soupe z'habitant, accras de titiri, fried fish eggs, fricassee de chatrou or roussi de cabri... An immersion in the past in a timeless setting.
