La Favorite Distillery

Distillery, Historic site and monument in Le Lamentin
  • The Favorite distillery is home to one of Martinique's finest rums.
Located on the outskirts of Fort-de-France in the commune of Le Lamentin, a visit to this distillery is a must, as it is one of the oldest and most authentic distilleries still in operation on the island.

  • La Favorite is a 60-hectare estate. It is one of the island's last independent, family-run distilleries, where craftsmanship and know-how mingle with the old-fashioned charm of the 1906 steam engine that continues to hum with each harvest.

You'll receive a warm welcome from our passionate team, who will show you all the unique features of La Favorite rums: cane crushing, distillation, fermentation tanks, ageing cellars, bottling, tasting, water slide, kioques...

    A little history:
Habitation La Favorite was founded in 1842. Before it became the distillery it is today, it produced cane sugar. Henri Dormoy acquired it in 1905, modernized it and transformed it into a distillery. It was equipped with a steam engine, which is still in use today.
Today, the 3rd and 4th generations continue to write the history of this family distillery, alongside men and women who love their land, their cane and their rum.
Each year, La Favorite produces around 450,000 liters of rum in keeping with Martinique's traditions, representing less than 3% of total production in Martinique.

Tours and tastings are available all year round, Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm, and Saturday mornings (November to May), 9am to 12pm.
