Buggy tour in Basse-Pointe, in the north of Martinique Experience an off-road adventure in the heart of Martinique’s wild north with Martinique Buggy. Setting off from Basse-Pointe, embark on a buggy tour through tropical forest, past rivers and plantations, and across spectacular landscapes at the foot of Mount Pelée. Northern Buggy Tour – Mount Pelée, River and J.M. Rum Distillery The tour departs from Habitation Leyritz in Basse-Pointe, a place steeped in history in the north of the island. After a briefing on driving and safety instructions, you’ll get behind the wheel of an automatic buggy, which is comfortable and easy to handle. The route takes you on a journey of around 35 km through the typical landscapes of northern Martinique: trails, banana plantations, pineapple fields, sugar cane, tropical forest and river crossings. A swim under a waterfall provides a welcome break before you set off again. The tour ends with a visit to the J.M. Rum Distillery, where you’ll discover local expertise and sample Martinique’s agricultural rum.
