Fishing trip in Martinique with Max Baspin – Terre Mer Enjoy an authentic traditional fishing experience in Martinique with Max Baspin, a fisherman from Grand-Rivière. Aboard the Saint-Jean II, his traditional 7.30-metre yawl that can accommodate up to 6 people, Max will take you out to the North Caribbean Sea for an authentic trip combining technique, sharing and respect for the sea.

Coming from a family of sailors, with the tradition passed down from father to son, he knows the fishing grounds, currents and underwater topography of this wild and unspoilt coastline – dominated by Mount Pelée – like the back of his hand.

Traditional fishing trip – Learn the local techniques: • Big-game fishing • Trolling • Jig fishing • Pot fishing All equipment is provided and the catch is shared on board. Just remember to bring your own snacks and drinks. A small-group experience in the true tradition, a far cry from standardised trips. Price: €50 per person

Boat shuttle for hikers: Prêcheur – Grand-Rivière Alongside fishing trips and sea excursions, Max provides return transport for walkers making the Prêcheur–Grand-Rivière or Grand-Rivière–Prêcheur crossing.

This return boat journey allows you to travel along the wild coastline of the Northern Caribbean and admire the coves accessible only by sea, the volcanic cliffs and the landscape dominated by Mount Pelée, whilst avoiding a second leg of the journey on foot. Price: €15 per person

Sea excursion & discovery of the Northern Caribbean Max also offers boat trips along the north coast: • Exploring unspoilt coves • A visit to the Albert Falco Territorial Marine Nature Reserve • Optional stop at Rocher de la Perle for swimming or snorkelling, weather permitting Price: €25 per person

Whale and dolphin watching Set off to spot dolphins and whales in the waters off northern Martinique and the Dominique. Price: €35 per person
