Immerse yourself in the heart of market gardens, banana plantations and sugarcane fields. This unique experience will allow you to meet the people of Martinique – farmers, chefs, rum producers and craftspeople – and discover their culture and traditions.
You’ll be immersed in the heart of the tropical forest with its lush vegetation and swim in the river beneath the waterfall. You’ll sample tropical fruits and enjoy an authentic Creole lunch.
• NORTHERN TOUR (7.00 am–4.30 pm) Departure at 7.00 am from Les Trois-Ilets in a 4×4 (seating 7), heading north towards the Atlantic via the island’s interior; your driver-guide will take you to the heart of the island to discover: – The countryside – The tropical forest – The Ridge Road and forest track – Stunning viewpoints – The ‘Bo Kay’ garden (Creole garden) – The island of Dominica on a clear day – The J.M. distillery, with a rum tasting – The ‘Saut Gendarme’ waterfall, with a swim in the river. You’ll pass through: – Banana plantations – Pineapple fields You’ll enjoy: – A Creole lunch served at a local’s home. – Fresh fruit, juices and homemade planteur The return journey will take you along a legendary forest track. You’ll travel along: – The ridge road through the centre of the island, with stunning viewpoints and breathtaking scenery You’ll visit: – A banana packing station – A traditional basket-weaving workshop at Le Morne des Esses Adults: €55 / Children (under 12): €45
• HALF-DAY SOUTH TOUR (7.30 am–11.30 am or 1 pm–5.30 pm) Departure from Les Trois-Ilets in a 4×4 (seating 7) or from Rivière-Salée. You’ll pass through: – The sugarcane and banana fields of a plantation – Creole gardens, plants, flowers, small market gardens and livestock You’ll discover: – Breathtaking viewpoints, the Rocher du Diamant, Morne Larcher and ‘the reclining woman’ – The island of Saint Lucia on a clear day You’ll visit: – The La Mauny distillery will round off the trip, where you’ll learn all about sugarcane and agricultural rum.
