Inside, the tour takes visitors throughthe central drawing room, the reception room, the bedrooms, the period furniture and various items relating to domestic life. Each room tells a part of the story of the estate and those who lived there.
Surrounding the main house, the outbuildings round off the tour: the old kitchen, the stables, the steward’s cottage, the carriage house and ancillary areas. The cottage known as ‘Bush-Mitterrand’ is a reminder, in particular, of the Franco-American meeting held on the site in 1991.
The manor house thus offers an immersive experience ofMartinique’sarchitectural, family and culturalheritage. It is an essential stop for understanding the history of Habitation Clément beyond its connection with rum.
