Dubuc Castle ruins

At the heart of the ruins, overlooking the Baie du Trésor, are the remains of an ancient sugar dwelling. Excavations have revealed the importance and activities of Château Dubuc. The audioguided tour allows you to fully immerse yourself in all the historical and architectural elements of the estate. During your tour, you'll discover : A small museum tracing the history of the château and its occupants. The remains of the main dwelling, a cattle mill, numerous storage buildings (sugar cane, coffee, tobacco), a sugar mill, a hospital, a lime kiln, a water hut, dungeons... Beneath its appearance as a large 18th-century sugar dwelling, there are suspicions of smuggling, merchandise and slave trafficking. A number of clues point to the clandestine practices that took place here: the warehouses were oversized compared to a typical sugar factory of the time.
