An unusual night at the Domaine des Bulles

For an unusual experience in an unusual accommodation, I chose the Domaine des Bulles in Le Vauclin, Martinique. In this enchanting setting, you can sleep under a transparent bubble, savor refined local cuisine at the “La Bulle Gourmande ” restaurant and relax in the heart of nature at the “Comme dans ma bulle” spa. All these pleasures are combined in one experience. I’ll tell you all about it!

Zen ecolodge & unusual accommodation

Sleeping in a transparent bubble hidden under the canopy of red gum trees, grey mapou or tibou wood, waking up in the middle of the night under a star-studded sky, watching the sunrise… All this in the middle of nature, lulled by the muffled sounds of the wildlife that surrounds us: that’s what I was lucky enough to experience at Domaine des Bulles! This unusual domain, immersed in the forest and created on the family estate, has four transparent bubbles hidden in four hectares of unoverlooked greenery, and air-conditioned to disconnect you from the world.

I chose the Robinson bubble for this unique getaway. My transparent bubble sits as if on a private island, surrounded by a crystal-clear pool with a soothing waterfall. The perfect marriage of luxury and nature. Like the other 3 bubbles, the Bulle Robinson boasts refined, eco-friendly amenities: a spacious double bed, an outdoor shower room with walk-in shower, a 300m2 private garden, a furnished carbet, deckchairs, chiliennes and a water feature (jacuzzi, pool or swimming pool).

The service is discreet and attentive: WiFi, USB sockets, stocked minibar, coffee machine with courtesy capsules, bathrobes and slippers, organic shower products… No obligation, except to enjoy this enchanted interlude! I spent the afternoon bubbling away – so to speak – swimming in the deliciously cool water of my pool and reading on the terrace perched in the trees. Calm and serenity: just what I needed!

The night was just magical, studded with stars, the impression is unique, the sky changing color as the hours go by… Total immersion in nature… The next morning, I had a continental Creole breakfast (included in the overnight stay) in the garden of my bubble, but it can also be taken at the restaurant table.

Visitors and guests alike can take advantage of the estate’s communal areas: carbets, shaded kiosks, lounge areas where you can enjoy the barman’s cocktails accompanied by tapas for gourmet breaks. The sauna and jacuzzi are available on request…

Cosy lounges are scattered here and there in the garden, next to the fish ponds and under the majestic flamboyant tree. The ambience is soft and Zen-like, as if time were suddenly suspended.

Open to outside customers, the “Bulle gourmande” serves generous, fragrant home-cooking from breakfast to dinner, highlighting local produce, the sea, spices and aromas from the Creole garden on the estate.and aromatic home cooking, featuring local produce, seafood, spices and herbs from the estate’s Creole garden . The restaurant now offers a fixed menu with 3 starters, 6 main courses and 3 desserts. The chef has devised dishes to suit all tastes and tastes: salad, burger, pasta, fish, meat, vegetarian… In addition to the à la carte menu, he occasionally offers a daily special, depending on the market. Everything is fresh and homemade!

For my part, I enjoyed a tuna mi-cuit with papaya gratin and a chocolate fondant for dessert, accompanied by a fresh fruit cocktail! The terrace-restaurant boasts a bird ‘s-eye view over the bay of Pointe du Vauclin, and the atmosphere in the evenings is warm and inviting.
