Yémaya, a large-sized mermaid with curvy shapes is a tribute to women and the sea by creating a new sculpture representing a monumental mermaid 12 m long, composed of three pieces, leaving the impression that the creature's body is partially sandbanked.

Its name is Yemaya in reference to the marine deities in the Caribbean. The whole is made of reinforced concrete, for a total weight of 37 tons. Yemaya is one of the largest monumental underwater sculptures in the world. It was designed in the Ferraty shipyards in Saint-Pierre.

Very easy to access, opposite the entrance to the village of Saint-Pierre, all you need is a mask to admire it from the surface and swim towards the yellow buoy, submerged only 30 metres from the shore.
