Taxi Cap

Taxi Cap, a veritable institution run by the same family for over 38 years - Jonathan, Judicaël and Garcin Doré offers several excursions and a direct taxi-shuttle service to the islet of Cap Chevalier at very reasonable prices. The 'Taxi Cap' day includes an excursion to the white seabed, a rum tasting, a cockfighting demonstration and a Creole lunch.

Discover the Cap Chevalier bird sanctuary and its islets, the mangrove swamps and the coral reef! This walk is an excellent opportunity to observe several colonies of migratory seabirds. The boat anchors on the white seabed for the traditional baptism of rum, accompanied by Creole accras and boudins.

At lunchtime, a traditional Creole meal will be served on the îlet Chevalier.
There are two options on the menu: a Creole menu or a 'lobster on reservation' menu. Drinks and punch are served as you wish.

You'll spend the rest of the day on îlet Chevalier discovering the fauna - mongooses, land crabs, the beach, the flora... Your afternoon will be punctuated by a variety of activities, including a cockfighting presentation (without killing the cock) and dancing to lively Creole music. And don't forget the authentic West Indian chocolate and butter bread that will be served at snack time.

Tour of the islets 1h30:
This beautiful walk allows you to discover the coral reef of Anse Michel, the national bird reserve of the islets of Sainte-Anne, the mangrove swamp of the Baie des Anglais and its particularly rich ecosystem: mangroves, oysters and the coral reef.

Islets walk ½ h:
This walk allows you to discover the beauty of the landscape and the rich flora and fauna of the islets dotted around Cap Chevalier. You'll discover a particularly rich ecosystem and the importance of mangroves covered in oysters, the coral reef.

The shuttle to îlet Chevalier :
Garcin, Jonathan and Judicaël will take you to îlet Chevalier every day from 8.30am to 5pm on board a fishing skiff. Lunch is delivered to the islet by the Chez Gracieuse restaurant (see "Chez Gracieuse" page).

Fares for 2024 :
- The "Taxi Cap" day: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9.45am to 4pm - Other days on request. 38€/adult - 15€/child (under 12) for the "classic" menu or 55€/adult for the "lobster" menu.

- Tour of the islets 1h30 by prior arrangement: 23€/adult - 11€/child (under 12) by prior arrangement.

- ½ h tour of the islets every day: €10/adult - €5/child (under 12).

- Taxi shuttles, daily: return adult €5 - child €2.
