Sainte-Trinité Church

Construction of the church began in 1708 and was completed in 1710.

To this day, it has retained the proportions and solid masonry that the 17th century settlers gave it: 40 metres long, 10.80 metres wide at the nave and 30 metres wide at the chapels. This church stands out from the simple rectangular plan of the time: in fact the high altar is accompanied by two side altars. Its bell tower is surmounted by a minaret.
Rebuilt between 1816 and 1817, it was hit several times by cyclones and earthquakes.

In the 1930s, the church was restored, the wooden frame replaced, and the bell tower, then in a rounded dome, took on the appearance of a minaret, an architecture with orientalist influences fashioned by the architect Ali Tur in Guadeloupe.
