Rhums Dillon AOC - Distillerie

Wine cellars, Local produce in Fort-de-France
  • The Dillon Distillery, located in Fort-de-France, is not open to visitors. However, you can find Dillon AOC rums at Distillerie Depaz, in wineries, delicatessens, supermarkets or via their online shop.

  • Since 1996, Martinique's agricultural rum has benefited from an Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (A.O.C.). Thanks to a unique and exceptional terroir, as well as the specificity of the sugar cane used, these rums develop rare aromas and subtle notes that make them unique.

Although the distillery is not open to visitors, the beautiful orange factory, dating from the early 20th century, can be admired at the entrance to the town of Fort-de-France. Dillon rums have stood the test of time thanks to their historic products and beautiful new releases.

The Dillon brand is a guarantee of high-quality AOC Martinique rum.

In 2024, Dillon won a gold medal and two silver medals at the Concours Général Agricole in Paris:

    - Gold medal for Rhum Vieux VO Dillon 3 ans 43% vol,
    - Silver medals for Rhum Vieux VSOP Dillon 6 years 43% vol and Rhum Vieux XO Dillon 9 years 43% vol.

    Certain rums remain emblematic :

    - Rhum agricole XO: This aged rum is made from a blend of rums aged for 9 years in small oak casks (200 litres).
    - Rhum vieux Dillon brut de fût : This rum comes from the lodge put into ageing in July 2013, made up of 7 small capacity casks (200 L). It is not cold-filtered or reduced. It should be enjoyed at room temperature.

    - Rhum Blanc Ti Flè Blé, limited edition (50%): Ti Flè Blé is a rum that is best enjoyed as a ti-punch. Connoisseurs will appreciate this limited edition, rich in cane aromas and particularly refreshing.

    - Rhum hors d'âge Carafe millésime 2004 (42%): This elegant decanter has been greeted with great interest by connoisseurs, as it contains one of the few new releases from the House of Dillon in recent years. This aged rum, with its beautiful amber colour, was produced in 2004 and aged for 12 years in American oak casks, then finished in French oak casks. These two periods allowed it to develop its exceptional aromatic profile.

    A little history
The Fort-de-France distillery, located in the eponymous district, owes its name to Count Arthur Dillon, who was appointed colonel at the age of 16 and went on to become a general and hero of the American War of Independence. During a stopover in Martinique, he married one of Joséphine de Beauharnais's cousins, Laure Girardin de Montgérald, who owned the house that would become, through this marriage, the Dillon house.
