  • Zone de Protection Renforcée 2 au Prêcheur (ZPR2), covering an area of 79.60 ha, is bounded to the north by the south of Anse Belleville and to the south by the La Roche / Abymes pontoon site in Martinique.

  • Rules to be observed in this zone:

    What is prohibited :
    - All forms of recreational and professional fishing other than surface net, titiri and seine fishing.
    - Underwater hunting
    - Anchoring and mooring (subject to the future installation of ecological moorings and dedicated mooring buoys).

    What is authorised :
    - Professional fishing with surface nets and Titiri from 1 August to 1 October.
    - Scuba diving by club or under authorisation.

    - Seagrass beds, a nursery area, contributing to the ecosystem and feeding numerous species including the Green Turtle.
    - Colonies of Elkhorn Coral, a species classified as "critically endangered".
    - Sponges that are part of the diet of the hawksbill turtle.
    - Drop-offs harbouring a wealth of biodiversity and popular with divers
    - More than 90 species of fish, including rare heritage species classified as "vulnerable" or "near-threatened", such as the Capitaine, the Sorbe, the Vierge gueule jaune, the Baliste royal, the Pagre dispo and the Raie léopard.

    - Dense seagrass beds representing an important feeding ground for the Green Turtle, classified as "critically endangered".
    - The Citadelle site, prized by divers for its beauty and high level of biodiversity, and home to the Albert Falco plaque.
    - The Abymes site, famous for its pontoon, its beauty and the great depths just a few metres from the shore, which are sometimes enjoyed by marine mammals, notably the Sperm Whale and the Humpback Whale, both endangered species.
