Description
Since 1 August 2020, the transport authority, Martinique Transport, has radically reorganised transport services in the Centre region in order to provide a clearer and more efficient service. Formerly known as Mozaïk, the Centre Network is now run by a partnership between the Régie des Transports de Martinique (RTM) and several private companies. The RTM directly operates the two dedicated public transport lanes (TCSP ) and carries out essential cross-functional tasks such as ticketing, traffic management, enforcement, communications, maintenance and legal oversight of the network. The urban lines, meanwhile, are operated by various private operators: SETRAC, MTC, TRANSNAV, TRANSURBAIN, CTRC, SERTRANS and BONIFACE.
The Centre Network serves the four main municipalities in central Martinique: Fort-de-France, Le Lamentin, Saint-Joseph and Schœlcher. It operates seven days a week, generally between 5 am and 9 pm, to meet the daily needs of residents, students, workers and visitors.
A distinctive feature of this network is that it forms a genuine suburban network, centred around neighbourhood routes and cross-town links between the municipalities. This structure enables the network to cover a vast area and facilitate mobility for as many people as possible, including those living beyond the city centres.
A few figures illustrate the importance of this service:
* 57 urban routes;* 99 city buses;* 8 transport operator groups operating daily.
To make it easier to buy tickets, passengers have access to 5 ticket offices and 31 ticket vending machines (TVMs) spread across the area.
A modernised and more convenient ticketing system
The Réseau Centre is also continuing its digital transformation. Since 1 June 2026, traditional paper tickets have been replaced by rechargeable contactless cards. Passengers can now choose between a rechargeable single-use ticket, ideal for occasional journeys, or a rechargeable travel card, suitable for regular users. This development allows passengers to check their balance, top up their tickets as often as they like, and use a single card across several networks in Martinique. At the same time, the Martinique Mobilités online shop allows users to order their card and purchase or top up their tickets remotely, at any time. Passengers can also download the MT Ticket app for free, available on the App Store and Google Play, to buy tickets directly from their smartphone and validate them on board using the QR code in the buses. A practical solution that simplifies daily travel.
