Before setting off on the trails, you'll get to know your horse by brushing and saddling him. After a short briefing, you'll be ready for adventure. Rides are supervised by the guide in groups of no more than 8 riders. (Minimum age 13, maximum weight 85 kg, and good physical condition required).
You'll ride through stunning landscapes, from dry forest to mangrove swamps, along the Massel pond to the superb wild beach of Macabou, where the Atlantic Ocean caresses the white sand. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced rider, you'll enjoy this ride at your own pace, whether walking, trotting or galloping, on the sand or in the water. You'll discover breathtaking vistas such as the chapel of the Virgin of the Seafarers and, depending on the route you choose, Anse Grosse Roche (very easy to recognise, as its beach has a large rock, and its particularity is that this rock has a heart-shaped hole in it).
Grand Macabou is a paradise almost untouched by buildings, marked by a rich biodiversity where the dry forest is home to species such as the pear tree and black candlewood. Its coconut tree-lined beach and grassy savannah, adjacent to the Massel pond and mangrove swamps, are ideal sites for nesting sea turtles and for observing migratory and sedentary birds. This 144-hectare site is classified as a natural area of flora and fauna interest, promising an unforgettable equestrian adventure in an exceptional setting.
For your ride, bring trousers, closed shoes and a cap or bandana. Luc will provide the helmets.
