Plage de la Brêche
-
La Brêche beach, located in Tartane in the commune of La Trinité in Martinique, is famous for its fine, almost white sand, as well as its magnificent view over the bay and the islet of Tartane. The beach is shaded and lined with vegetation (beware of mancenillium trees, which are particularly abundant on this beach - a small, highly poisonous tree - and are numerous on the island). This beach, with its calm, azure-blue waters, is particularly suitable for children.
The beach forms a beautiful cove of golden sand, protected from the waves by a rocky overhang, guaranteeing generally calm waters. The area is popular with tourists and locals alike, especially at weekends for family picnics.
La Brêche is notable for its facilities, which include tables and a deck to make it easier for wheelchair users to reach the water's edge. The beach was the first in Martinique to be awarded the "tourism and disability" label. -
