In August 1724, Mr. d'Aubigny gave a piece of land "with a square capacity of a quarter to establish a church, the cemetery and the presbytery and a space to serve as a savannah for the parish horse."

The history of the church is closely linked to that of the family of Empress Josephine de Beauharnais. In 1761, the marriage of her parents, Joseph Gaspard de Tascher, Lord of La Pagerie and Rose Claire des Vergers de Sanois, was celebrated there, as well as her baptism in 1763.
In 1807, Madame de La Pagerie was buried in a vault built inside the church. In 1849, to repair the church, Father Merchez turned to Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte, the future Napoleon III, who had the necessary sum...The history of the church is closely linked to that of the family of Empress Josephine de Beauharnais. The lateral naves were added in 1945 and, at the same time, the cistern next to the church was transformed into a crypt.
