The Tombolo is a natural wonder, the islet of Santa Maria is connected to the rest of the island by a strip of sand called tombolo. The most famous tombolo is that of Mont Saint-Michel in France.

Tombolo is well visible from January to April. You can then reach the islet by foot at certain times of the day and according to the tides (be careful and think about the return).
