Museum, Eco-museum, Children's museum, Natural sciences in Les Trois-Îlets
  • The Maison de la Mangrove, located on the road to Trois-Îlets, is an integral part of the Vatable forest.

Inaugurated in 2020, it is managed by the Parc Régional Naturel de Martinique. Its educational aim is to promote knowledge of the mangrove's biodiversity and raise awareness of the importance of preserving it for the balance of its entire ecosystem. An interface between land and sea.

  • Visits to the Maison de la Mangrove are free of charge. It's designed for young and old alike. Several rooms offer total immersion, with interactive panels and a panoramic view of the island's mangrove areas and their flora and fauna, helping you to better understand their role. (There's also a small store selling local crafts).

Martinique's largest mangrove is located mainly in the commune of Ducos, but also extends over the communes of Rivière-Salée and Les Trois-Îlets (almost 1,200 ha), where the Maison de la Mangrove is located.
The others are mainly located in central and southern Martinique (Le Robert, Le François, Baie des Anglais in Sainte-Anne, Presqu'île de la Réserve Naturelle Protégée de la Caravelle in Tartane, Le Marin and Le Diamant).
On the Vatable site, you can continue your exploration in the coastal forest and mangrove fringe with its mangroves and wildlife - land crabs, numerous bird species including endemic species of the Lesser Antilles and Martinique.

and crustaceans - on a 2.5 km trail. Popular for short hikes and family outings, the trail offers magnificent views over the bay of Les Trois-Îlets, Fort-de-France, the Pitons du Carbet and the islets of Génipa. The site is well laid out, with carbets and benches.
