    Oscar islet is protected by the 1986 Coastal Law and is the subject of a prefectoral decree for the protection of the biotope (APB) to preserve its characteristic fauna and flora such as: red gum trees, mangroves, pear trees and rarer plant species such as the country mulberry or milkwood.

    It is possible to visit the islet. Several companies offer services on the islet and on the white bottoms. A guest house and a host table, the Maison de l'Ilet Oscar, is open. It is the most frequented islet of Le François.
