The îlet Métrente is the most inhabited of all the François islets with 20 houses.

It is located near Simon Bay. The Anonymous Islet or Metrente Islet was once called Pilot Islet after a Caribbean chief who lived there.
Of elongated shape with cobbled coves and sandy coves, it does not exceed 30 metres in altitude. Its vegetation is mainly herbaceous and shrubby. It is the yellow-bellied bird that is the most common bird found on the islet. It is one of the islets that is neither too "degraded" nor too "preserved", so vigilance is essential to preserve the natural species...It is located near Simon Bay.
