Îlet de la Perle

Islet in Le Prêcheur
  • La Perle is a small islet opposite the village of Le Prêcheur. It is the only islet of Le Prêcheur. It is located in the Dominica Canal off Anse Couleuvre. The islet is considered by specialists as one of the most beautiful diving spots in Martinique.

  • It is shaped like a large volcanic rock. Its marine area is 82 hectares and its land area is 0.32 hectares.

    La Perle Island is interesting for marine avian fauna: such as the collared tern, the brown noddy or the brown madman of protected species. Its surroundings are monitored by the Martinique Marine Environment Observatory*. 68 highly diversified fish species and the green sea turtle have been identified.

    We can observe barracudas, schools of hundreds of large-eyed jacks, candlelight...

    We can observe barracudas, schools of hundreds of large-eyed jacks, candlelight barracudas, turtles, loons, sherb snappers, parrot fish, fusiliers and magnificent flora. You can also meet large pelagics and dolphins.

    It is a popular spot for experienced divers, little frequented because of its distance from the coast, diving is simply magical.
