In the heart of authentic Martinique, located in Gros Morne, the Habitation Saint-Etienne - the stronghold of HSE rums - has a garden labelled "Remarkable Garden" by the Ministry of Culture since 2015.
A visit and a discovery walk are essential for this green setting, which is among the most beautiful gardens on the island. -

Organised around several thematic zones, this remarkable garden brings together, among other things, a collection of more than 180 plant species from all over the world - royal palms from the West Indies, balisiers, a bamboo grove, an orchard, horticultural trees, red palms, cursed fig trees, cooties, calebassiers, alpinias, coconut palms, a zamana, lemon trees, queen palms - and a large population of birds, including the Kaiali, an endemic green heron. A series of monumental contemporary sculptures on the theme of colonisation, created by two committed artists, Philippe Perrin and Victor Anicet, blend perfectly with this vegetal canvas.
Listed in 2006 in the Inventaire Supplémentaire des Monuments Historiques, the Habitation Saint-Etienne has thus gained a new distinction.
