Distillery, Listed or registered (CNMHS), Historic site and monument in Gros-Morne
  • The Habitation Saint-Etienne, the birthplace of HSE rums, is located between Saint-Joseph and Gros Morne, in the heart of Martinique.

  • The Habitation Saint-Etienne has an impressive collection of industrial remains from the 19th and 20th centuries: a steam engine from 1925, boilers, mill stones and a hydraulic turbine. When it was built, the factory had a magnificent façade with 28 arched windows, which is now a listed building.

    - Hints to appreciate the difference of HSE rums...
By selecting its vintages according to its own aromatic criteria and by establishing its own maturation and ageing models, HSE has chosen to experiment. To innovate. To cultivate the field of possibilities. And to be a creator of rums.
    - HSE white rums:
HSE Rum was the first to give its white rums time. To shape them, to brew them, to reduce them gradually. A maturation pushed to the extreme. Preserved, sublimated aromas. And prestigious, limited vintages, unique in the world. First there was the Cuvée de l'an 2000, now sold out. After the 2007 and 2010 cuvées, 2012, 2016 and now the 2018 cuvée.
    - HSE Old Rum
HSE gives all its nobility to ageing. For at least 3 years, the rum rests in different barrels. It slowly acquires more intense, complex flavours. And gives birth to exclusive, refined creations: Vintage 98 signed and numbered, Single Cask 2003...
HSE's "Finitions du monde" collection includes aged rums that are left to age for a few months in small casks containing another spirit (Port, Sauternes, Whisky, etc.). The rum will then add notes of this other spirit, this is what is called the "finish". The latest additions to the range: Château Marquis de Terme Finish and recently VSOP Port Cask Fnish...
