Domaine d'Emeraude

An exceptional site
Located on the territory of the commune of Morne Rouge, the Domaine d'Émeraude benefits from an idyllic natural setting that gives it a unique character: here nature has remained queen and flourishes freely, sheltered from the tumult and clatter caused by Man. This place, conceived by the Regional Natural Park of Martinique, aims to arouse the curiosity of the visitor and to bring him to observe nature, such as it is offered to him daily. Here, no staging ... Just a showcase of our biodiversity in a splendid setting.

At the Domaine d'Émeraude, the air is heard, the smells are savored and the sounds are experienced. The freshness of the place is a source of change of scenery and relaxation... a journey, an escapade, a wild flight towards unknown sensations.

A trip to the Domaine d'Émeraude is an experience of the senses.
At the sight of Mount Pelée barely concealed between the clouds, listening to the discreet whistle of the mornes lurking in the rainforest, time seems to stand still. The steep relief has been softened and now gives way to carefully landscaped areas. The discovery is then punctuated with playful and enriching stops.

The landscaped forest (see "Park and gardens" and "Hiking" sections):
Nearly 4km of walking trails accessible to young and old have been created. Three routes allow you to explore this forest, which is home to more than 100 native species.

The Nature Exploration Pavilion (see "Museum" section):
Educational, instructive and very playful, this exploration pavilion is above all a space for encountering the Natural History of Martinique. Vegetation, soil formation, fruits and vegetables, mangrove... the whole natural landscape of the island is presented alongside quotations, proverbs and other regional poems. Ingeniously structured, this interactive space can be either an introduction or a nicely illustrated conclusion to the visit of the Domaine d'Emeraude.
