The Clément Foundation, a GBH corporate foundation, has been conducting sponsorship activities in favour of the arts and cultural heritage in Martinique since 2005. Housed on the site of the Habitation Clément, which it develops and promotes, it extends its heritage protection mission to two other estates representative of traditional Creole architecture: the Habitation La Sucrerie and the Habitation Pécoul. It campaigns for the preservation of the built heritage in Martinique.

It manages important documentary collections including private archives, a library on the history of the Caribbean and iconographic collections, and publishes works of a cultural nature.

The Clément Foundation is also dedicated to the promotion of contemporary art in the Caribbean. More than 200 artists have already worked in the heritage site, which houses a contemporary art centre. In March 2023, the Clément Foundation inaugurated the Pinacothèque, a new 550 m2 museum space where the works of artists acquired by the Foundation and already exhibited will be highlighted. The collection includes more than 800 works by 250 contemporary artists from Martinique and the Caribbean, purchased over the past 30 years by Bernard Hayot and his Patronage Foundation. Until May 2, 2023, the Clément Foundation will host the first major exhibition in Martinique of one of the most important and unique Cuban artists of his generation, Roberto Diago. The two monumental windows of the Pinacotheque overlook the trees of the Habitation and the luxuriant vegetation

Each year a new season of exhibitions is organised, open free of charge to the public and to schoolchildren, and catalogues are published to accompany each of these events. This support for artistic creation also includes the regular acquisition of works of art with a link to the Caribbean, which now form a collection that is exhibited regularly.
