Chapel of Calvary

Religious building, Historic site and monument in Fort-de-France

  • Late 19th century.
    Made of stone, masonry and wood, it was blessed on July 5th 1874 and restored in 1935 for the tricentenary ceremonies of the attachment of Martinique to France. The chapel attracts many of the faithful on Lenten Fridays and Good Friday, the days on which they carry out the traditional Way of the Cross.

    You have two possibilities to access it:
    By car by the Folie road from the centre of the town then by taking the street on your left.

    If you are determined to follow the Way of the Cross, take the Folie road from the city centre and take the path that says "CALVAIRE" and walk up the 14 stations.
