Like a small refreshing dip in the tropical forest, this hike on the heights of Fort-de-France takes place on a easy trail along the Dumauzé river. -
This hike starts on the left at the end of the spa's car park. Whereas on the right in front of the orange building is the start of the Absalon loop (and the access to the hot spring).

A staircase will take you down into the valley. After a 10 minute walk you will be overlooking the river Dumauzé, with a monumental stone building on your left. This building is part of a system that collects and brings water from the peaks of the Carbet to Fort de France. Keep going straight ahead, the path is in balcony with the river at all times. Just before the ford, a cold spring bubbles intermittently. Cross at the ford and its small natural basin and continue on the path (about 250 metres) which will take you to the gate of the Fontaine Didier factory.
