Hiking with Mélanie, who holds a state diploma in "Accompagnatrice Moyenne Montagne" (mid-range mountain guide), is the safest way to discover Martinique. With its 180 km of trails and itineraries, Martinique is a great place for hiking.

She will accompany you on the various routes through the tropics that you wouldn't dare take on your own. Passionate about history and geology, she will tell you all about Martinique and its unique and endemic flora and fauna. You'll also be able to taste local produce, fruit and vegetables.

Among the many tours, her signature hikes include:
• Montagne Pélée (Morne Rouge):
- Aileron - 2nd refuge
- Aileron - 2nd refuge - Caldeira
- Aileron - 3rd refuge - Le chinois
Allow 3 hours for the short circuit
• Pitons du Carbet and the Chemin des Crêtes
- Ascent of Piton Lacroix (5h)
- Crossing the Piton Lacroix and Morne Piquette, the ridge path (8h)
You need to be in very good physical condition
• Prêcheur / Grand Rivière: from Le Prêcheur, the return journey is by boat, with a cash allowance of €15 per person.
Allow 6hrs 30mins for the walk, including breaks.
• SLNA (Sentier Littoral Nord Atlantique) - La Crabière (Lorrain)
This hike is rich in history, with the remains of a sugar dwelling and traces of the Amerindian people.
• Traces des Caps (Sainte-Anne)
The trail can be done in different stages, and Mélanie will adapt to your wishes. Discover and explain the Mangrove swamp, the dry forest and the petrified savannah.
• Sunrise from Morne Larcher (Diamant):
Leaving from Petite Anse d'Arlet, it's a 40-minute climb. Breakfast is served after your climb.
Exceptional: sleeping in the rainforest!
Mélanie offers you the chance to sleep in the middle of the rainforest. After a day's hike, you'll arrive at the base camp, set in the middle of the lush vegetation.
You'll spend the night in hammocks protected by a built-in mosquito net. Trapper" meals and equipment are provided. The next day, you'll return via a shorter hike.
(Equipment to bring: Sleeping bag, hiking bag, hiking boots, canteen, cutlery, water).
Please note
- Children are welcome from the age of 5, younger in a baby carrier on easy hikes.
- Mélanie adapts to the level and effort of each individual.
Prices for 2023:
Adults from €40 to €80
Children (- 12 years) -5 € on the price
Residents -5 € on the price
Home-made snacks for half-days and lunch for full days, prepared by Mélanie.
