    Rum Museum

    The House of Distillation and its Cellar of Vintages
    Just behind the Habitation, in the former stables, is the Still Museum and its vintage cellar. This captivating venue explores the art of distillation through the ages, with antique stills, distillation columns, filters and steam regulators.

    This unique collection also includes a series of exceptional vintages, dating from 1885 to the present day, testifying to the heritage and expertise of the Saint-James distillery.
    Access to the two museums, shops and workshops is free, allowing visitors to discover the treasures of rum at their own pace.

    Visit the Distillery: At the heart of the production process
    Guided tours of the distillery are available Monday to Friday at 10am and 11.30am during the harvest period (February to June) and by appointment the rest of the year. There is a charge of €5 - You will have the opportunity to observe at close quarters the distillation process that produces one of Martinique's finest agricultural rums. Please note that this tour is for people over the age of 12 only.

    Tasting at the Rum Bar
    A visit to the distillery would not be complete without a visit to the rum bar, where you can sample the finest Saint-James rums.

    The Plantation Train
    To extend your visit, board the Plantation Train for a unique journey through the sugar cane fields. This excursion will take you to the La Salle dwelling, a fully restored former sugar mill. You can also reach the La Salle dwelling by car.

    The Saint-James Distillery in Sainte-Marie is much more than just a production site; it's an invitation to discover the history and traditions of Martinique, through an immersive and authentic journey into the world of agricultural rum.
