La Cabane à Rhum: free tasting, free entry
Located on the grounds of the Maison La Mauny Distillery, La Cabane à Rhum is a must-visit spot for discovering AOC agricultural rums from southern Martinique. Open Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 5.30pm.
Entry is free and tastings are complimentary, allowing you to explore the full range of the distillery’s produce: white rums for ti-punch, aged rums, vintage rums, punches and the most prestigious cuvées. On-site advisors assist each visitor according to their tastes and level of knowledge.
The distillery also owes its reputation to Daniel Baudin, cellar master since 1991, who was named the world’s best cellar master in Miami in 2019. In addition to the shop, visitors can explore a wine and champagne cellar, an interactive area dedicated to the estate’s history, and receive personalised advice on choosing a bottle to give as a gift or to take home from Martinique.
To extend the experience, it is also possible to book a guided tour of the distillery on the Ti Train before or after visiting the shop.
