Starting point: Anse Couleuvre parking area.
Access: RN2, then CD10, drive to the parking area at Anse Couleuvre.
A family walk that takes the hiker to the bottom of one of the highest waterfalls in Martinique. -
Below the parking area, take the track on the right after the river. The path climbs into an undergrowth of cocoa trees, zamanas, river woods and imposing trees.
It is marked by orange arrows drawn on rocks and winds in the forest. It crosses the Couleuvre River several times, which you will cross in certain places. On the way, you will notice the impressive size of the trees and their roots.

After a little over an hour you arrive at the waterfall about thirty meters high. The water flows into a basin. Sit back and enjoy the place. How about a little dip?

A bit of culture: Matoutou Falaise tarantula has been protected since August 3rd, 2017. Endemic to Martinique, it is a harmless tree tarantula.
It lives in trees. A light bluish colour with a black striped abdomen, it becomes darker during moulting. Adults are recognizable by their purplish pink legs and bright red abdomen.
Adult, it measures from 5 to 13 cm.
