Habitation Clément (Remarkable garden)

One of Martinique's five must-see gardens, Habitation Clément is a veritable ode to nature and art. Its tropical vegetation and sculptures, carefully scattered throughout the 16-hectare park, create a unique dialogue between nature and artists. The views are superb. The garden at Habitation Clément is also a sanctuary for biodiversity, featuring a collection of plants from the four corners of the tropical globe. Created on former industrial wasteland, the park is punctuated by ponds and features : - An avenue of majestic royal palms, inviting visitors to discover a Palmeraie boasting an impressive variety of these species. - A sculpture garden that anchors contemporary Caribbean art in the landscape, presented in the spaces dedicated to the Fondation Clément. - A restored ox-mill overlooking the park. - A tropical orchard containing many endemic plant species. - The main house with its large trees, such as tamarind, mahogany and mumbo, which once marked the homes. - The machine garden, with its landscaped area featuring old machine tools, steam power stations, trains and wagons.
