Dedicated to biodiversity, the Père Pinchon Museum is located on the grounds of the former Villa Chams, rue du Professeur Raymond Garcin in Fort-de-France.
Robert Pinchon was born on 10 September 1913 in Provins, Seine-et-Marne. After studying natural sciences, theology and philosophy, he entered the priesthood and was ordained in 1939.
The museum's ambition is to gather Father Pinchon's collections in an appropriate space, but also to use them as a guideline for the presentation and enhancement of our rich and diverse Caribbean flora and fauna.
Books, butterflies, birds and other items were donated to the Community in October 1994 by the Congregation of the Holy Spirit Fathers. This collection of nearly 10,000 items is unique in the French West Indies.
