As part of an old restored distillery, the Ecomusée of Martinique proposes a selected museographic collection which includes not only the products of archaeological excavations made on the site but also objects, witnesses of ancestral know-how.
On the ground floor, various collections are presented. They allow you to discover the history of Martinique, from the prehistory of the Amerindians to the present day, including the beginnings of French colonization and its economy, the slave era, and, later, the time of central factories and the advent of the banana economy.

The first floor is devoted to the presentation of a Martinican craftsmen's family: the man is a cabinetmaker and the woman is a basket weaver. Many elements of Martinique's daily life around the 1950s and 1960s (housing, furniture, knickknacks, crockery, dishes, clothing, etc.) help to keep in mind and link together the gestures and behaviours from which the identity and culture of the Martinican community were shaped.
