Atelier Kalinaga

Marie-Paule Desert, visual artist, draws her inspiration from the heart of nature. She uses all that the earth has to offer: wood, foliage, earth, river stones and volcanic stones from Mount Pelée, to create unique and atypical pieces.
An invitation to imagination and travel.

She perpetuates the tradition and culture of Martinique through her works. Marie-Paule sculpts wood, braids plants, paints on palm stipes... Since she was a child, art has run in her veins.

The objects she creates are both useful and decorative: works sculpted in wood (signs, paintings, objects, characters), lighting, furniture, decorative objects, drawings, masks, basketry.

She organises discovery workshops and initiations to art (you can bring your natural materials gleaned from nature to create your own works), to traditional music, to dance and to tales, in a spirit of exchange and sharing, at the Village de la Poterie or in the middle of nature.
Marie-Paule is a woman of breathtaking creativity, connected to nature and in symbiosis with the elements. Far from being a solitary artist, she collaborates with several local artists with her association Toti ekilib.
