  • Discover the An Mao park and garden ‘L'Héritage des Ancêtres’, a unique 1 hectare site in the heart of Martinique, on the crest of Morne Gommier in Le Marin, where history and nature meet to offer an enriching and immersive experience.

    Located on a site that once served as a refuge for maroon slaves, and is now inhabited by their descendants, this park has become, thanks to Pierre-Yves Panor, a place of memory, culture and heritage.

  • As you stroll through the An Mao Héritage garden, Pierre-Yves Panor, guide and storyteller, will introduce you to trees and plants, spices and other rimèd razié which played a crucial role in the emergence of Martinican culture.

    The park highlights ancestral knowledge, revealing the importance of beliefs, legends and botanical practices that have shaped the socio-cultural identity of the island.

    Visits can be guided or free but are by appointment: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday afternoons from 3:30 p.m., as well as Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. The visit lasts approximately 1h30.

    Price 2024:
    - Guided tour: €16 / adult, €10 / young people (13 and 18 years old), €8 / child (6 to 12 years old)
    - Free visit: 10€ / adult, 8€ / young people (13 and 18 years old), 6€ / child (6 to 12 years old)
